Welcome to Study Hub
A two-minute guide for parents: what Study Hub is, how to start, and what is in your hands.
What Study Hub is
Study Hub is a place for your child to learn and practise the Kenyan CBC curriculum, Grades 3 to 9, on a phone. Each topic has a short lesson and a quiz, and a check-up finds where your child is ready to start. Every lesson and question is checked before your child sees it, and you can see their progress at any time.
Getting started: the first 10 minutes
- Open the link in your invite. Your family's code is already filled in.
- Create your account with your name, email and a password. Read the Privacy Policy and Terms, then agree.
- Confirm your email. We send a link; it may land in spam. If you typed your email wrong, press “Wrong address? Correct it” on the family page.
- Add your child: first name, grade and a picture they like.
- Turn on the parent PIN on your Account page. It keeps your child out of the parent pages.
- Hand over the phone. Your child picks their name and starts.
How your child uses it
- Check-up: a short set of questions in a subject that shows where to start. It is not a test and has no pass mark.
- Lessons: short, with pictures, and many can be read aloud.
- Quizzes: a few questions per topic. After each answer your child sees why it is right, or what the mistake was.
- Review: topics come back a few days later so they stick. The family page tells you when some are due.
- Offline: recent lessons open on a weak connection.
There are no leaderboards, no messages between children, no adverts and no public profiles.
Your parent controls
| What | Where | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Parent PIN | Account | Keeps children out of the parent pages, the data download and deleting |
| Progress | Family page → your child | Topics done, scores and what is due for review |
| The Friday note | Account | An email each Friday about each child's week; on unless you turn it off |
| Report a problem | 🙋 on every page | Tells us about a wrong answer, a confusing lesson, or anything unsafe |
| Download or delete | Account | Download everything we hold, or delete your family's account and data at once |
Your child's data and safety
- What we keep: your name, email and password; each child's first name, grade, picture, answers and progress. No phone numbers, no location, no advertising.
- Where: in a database in Ireland, run by companies outside Kenya that we name in the Privacy Policy. So your data leaves Kenya, and you agree to that when you sign up.
- Your rights: under Kenya's Data Protection Act you can see, correct or delete what we hold. For your child, you use these rights on their behalf.
- Deleting: from your Account page, at once and in one step. Only safety reports keep their words, with no name or link to you, because they may protect other children.
